Stackroom vs AssetTiger
AssetTiger is a straightforward asset register with a generous free entry point, which makes it a sensible place to start. Stackroom is where teams go when tracking what they own is no longer enough on its own.

Honest take: AssetTiger leads on getting a basic register in place at low cost. Stackroom leads on the operational layer: custody, bookings, maintenance and audits.
Why teams switch
What we hear from teams leaving AssetTiger
A register alone did not change behaviour
Knowing what you own is step one. Losses usually stop when there is a named holder and a signature, which is a different capability from a list.
The mobile experience limited adoption
If updating the register means going back to a computer, it does not get updated. Offline phone scanning is what keeps the data current.
They needed to integrate
Once asset data needs to reach finance or a helpdesk, an API stops being optional.
FAQ
Questions, answered
AssetTiger is free. Why pay for Stackroom?
If a basic register meets your needs, free is hard to beat and we would not try to talk you out of it. Paying makes sense when unrecovered equipment, double-bookings or missed warranty claims cost more than the subscription.
Can we move our existing data across?
Yes. Export to CSV and import. Serial numbers, categories, locations and purchase values carry over, so history is not lost in the move.
Can we import our data from AssetTiger?
Yes. Export your inventory to CSV and import it into Stackroom. Categories, locations and custom fields map across, and our team will help with the awkward parts of a larger migration.
How long does switching actually take?
Most teams import in the morning and run a real checkout the same afternoon. There is no implementation project and no professional services fee. The longest part is usually relabelling, and that can be done gradually.
Do we have to relabel everything?
No. If your existing labels carry a code you already track, import that code and keep using them. New QR labels can be printed on standard address stock as and when you need them.
What does Stackroom cost?
Pricing scales with your team rather than your item count, so registering more equipment never costs more. Current plans are on the pricing page, served from our billing API.
